2013 Forum Topics – Final Decisions

Discussions with insufficient feedback to enable a decision in this round are being held open. We will continue to seek comments on these species for the next round of decisions, which is expected to take place early in 2014, with the 2014 Red List update expected to be launched in the spring. The species for which discussions are being held open are marked ‘pend’ in the spreadsheet.

Decisions for all newly-defined non-passerine species resulting from the application of the Tobias et al. (2010) criteria are being deferred until the next round.

The 2013 Red List update will be launched on the BirdLife and IUCN websites in November 2013, and we discourage significant publicity of any status changes before this point – please email andy.symes[at] (replace [at] with @) if you need further information or would like to discuss publicity based on the 2013 status changes.

  1. Biodiversity And Nature Conservation Association (BANCA) would support the status of Spoon- billed Sandpiper (Critically endangered ) and Green Peafowl (Endangered). The Green Peafowl wide spread in Central, Eastern, western and northern Myanmar. Red- headed Vulture may be nearly extinct in Myanmar.
